10. Devil May Cry & The Many Versions Of 'Resident Evil 3.5'

As you'll find out, the more you delve into the history of Resident Evil, Capcom frequently had a 'too many cooks' scenario when developing subsequent instalments of the game. As such, after Resi 3, once again the team went back to the drawing board, creating a number of different variations on what Resident Evil 'could be'.
One of these was a more supernatural/demon-filled variation with even more focus on action, which over the course of development, was siphoned off and turned into Devil May Cry. Director Hideki Kamiya would take the ethos of DMC's combat and run with it for his future career, now heading up Platinum Games, who specialise in very Devil May Cry-esque combat systems and games.
