7. A Way Out

With the whole game being confined exclusively to a split-screen perspective - even if you're playing online - A Way Out is probably the most daring video game set to drop in 2018.

Forcing players to buddy up and embark on an adventure as Leo and Vincent, two convicts attempting to free themselves from their confines and keep the law one step behind them, the two distinct roles of each character will no doubt result in a game that demands to be played twice.

The whole thing looks so cinematic and fresh that it's difficult to not get swept up in the hype (especially when the title's director Josef Fares keeps telling everyone how great it is), but even without the marketing, A Way Out looks ridiculously solid.

The studio's previous release, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, was one of the best indies of the last generation, so all eyes are on their new title to be one of the breakout success stories of 2018.
