15 Most Disappointing Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

9. Watch Dogs

From the second Ubisoft unveiled the game - at E3 2012 - Watch Dogs generated intense anticipation. At a conference full of sequels, unoriginal ideas and casual games, it stood out impressively. Watch Dogs finally arrived two years later and while the hacking concept was interesting, it didn't really create the revolutionary gameplay that many felt it would. Most of the time, it's used as a tool in escaping police chases or to flick through security cameras in a building - not really living up to it's exciting futuristic potential. Lead character Aiden Pearce needed to be more interesting too. Dubbed 'The Vigilante', it's clear that the character was designed to ape the style and mystery of Batman to some degree - though little motivation is offered for his revenge mission, making it all rather pointless in the player's mind. When first unveiled, Watch Dogs looked exciting and innovative. Somewhere in development, some of those elements were lost and when the game launched, it was distinctly average; there were some good ideas on show but not as many as Ubisoft would have us believe.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
