15 Most Underrated Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

7. The Evil Within

Shinji Mikami's iteration on the 'new-age' Resident Evil formula - that of putting the camera behind someone's back and letting you shoot everything in sight - is either going to be one that elicits groans thanks to it being so similar to Resi 4, or fist-pumps followed by chants of "Finally it's here!" as it feels like a 'proper' sequel has arrived.

The main thing that'll kick you in the derriere if you're not careful is ammo management. The whole game is built around making sure literally every bullet counts, and it's through combinations of your various standard weapons (shotguns, assault rifles, pistols and hand-cannons) that you'll also get the Agony Crossbow; a great tool that'll let you throw bolts that can freeze guys in place, set them on fire and more.

Freezing a troop of five guys and then wading in with the melee attack to shatter the lot of them is just brilliant, and that's not to mention the stupidly over-the-top boss battles that are a total nostalgia-trip of pattern recognition, not to mention a story that to this day fans are still debating which facets are real and which are in hero Sebastian Castellanos' mind.
