Hidden away in each level are memory vaults, small pig shaped vaults that can be smashed open by the player to reveal slideshows of various characters memories. As a storytelling device, the vaults really are pretty ingenious; they communicate important information without the use of expository dialogue, and help better characterise the cast of characters in the most subtle and unobtrusive way possible.
