15 Upcoming Video Games To Make A Wii U Worth Buying
12. Devil's Third
Tomonobu Itagaki is best known for creating the Dead or Alive fighting game series and also rebooting the Ninja Gaiden franchise (before rebooting was even an industry term), but now he's turned his sights towards the Wii U for his latest effort, hack 'n slash first-person shooter Devil's Third, after THQ's 2013 closure put plans for a PS3 and Xbox 360 release on ice. Easily one of the most promising upcoming IPs on any platform, Devil's Third allows the player to switch between third-person gameplay for close-quarters combat and a first-person perspective for gunplay. What's more, the art style is highly evocative of pulpy comic books, bursting with personality and clearly not taking itself all that seriously. While the plot itself doesn't sound particularly riveting, the game's major sell is its online multiplayer mode, which looks awesome. With its fast pace and high-wire gameplay, as well as its excessive gore and comic tone, Devil's Third should make a strong case that the Wii U can appeal to more "mature" tastes as well. Release Date: TBA 2015
