15 Upcoming Video Games To Make A Wii U Worth Buying

11. Shadow Of The Eternals

In fairness, it may not be totally truthful to refer to Shadow of the Eternals as an upcoming game, considering that it may never actually be released. The game was conceived as a spiritual successor to the GameCube's brilliantly imaginative 2002 horror game Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, though two attempts to fund the game via Kickstarter have both been massive failures, likely due to the fact that the original ED was a cult classic through and through, a game without the fanbase to stump up the $1.35 million Precursor Games originally asked for to make the follow-up. As such, the studio's Denis Dyack announced last year that the game was on hold for the foreseeable future, and that it would be visited "when and if the time is right". The game's plot reportedly revolved around a young woman facing off against infamous real-life serial killer Elizabeth Báthory (pictured left), and true to the original game, would feature plenty of mind-bending tricks to make players question the nature of what they were seeing. Any fan of the original game (come on, you're out there!) can't quite give up on the game yet. If Precursor can sort through the legal red tape and actually be able to market the game as Eternal Darkness 2, then it might have better luck securing funding, even if the original game wasn't a commercial hit. selling less than half a million copies (despite tremendous critical acclaim). Release Date: TBA Available On: PC
