16 Hardest Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

11. Don't Starve

Developers Klei Entertainment are one of the most gifted talents we have as an industry, constantly challenging themselves to craft increasingly unique games with every passing year, whilst forever retaining a gorgeous and charming art style that binds them all together. Don't Starve saw their take on the survival genre, putting you in the shoes of one inventor Winston; a little chap who ends up stranded on an island - only for the game to say "Go on then... survive!" You'll thusly explore the fantastically Tim Burton-esque worth around you, but it's in having to chop down trees to make a nightly fire, ward off the enemies of the world and forever be on your toes as even the plantlife is trying to kill you that makes for an amazing game. In the end although there is a final point you can reach if you know exactly what to do, the challenge herein is as obvious as its namesake; and with the very immediate dangers that come with trying to survive by yourself on an isolated island, so to does the game's unbelievably unforgiving difficulty recreate exactly that.
