Some people prefer their horror with a psychological bent, and it's with Remedy's second fully-fledged IP following Max Payne that a Twin Peaks-tinged foray into lakeside towns and spooky forested woods is one of their best. Although the late-game revelations and general sense of stacking random event atop random event rubbed some people up the wrong way who were expecting a clearer resolution, when all's said and done Alan Wake is an immaculately polished horror title from one of the best developers we've got working in the industry.
