6. Hohokum

What It's About: The player controls a worm-like creature as they navigate a number of worlds which play out with the whimsical messiness of a child's imagination, completing various vague objectives as they explore these areas. Why You Need To Play It: Because it's one of the best-looking indie games out there right now. The art style looks as though it was created from a 6 or 7-year-old's drawings, brimming with personality and intentionally flecked with weird imperfections. While it's not always clear quite what you're supposed to be doing, the experience is so relaxing and beautiful to behold both visually and aurally that it's hard to complain. Don't expect to always feel in control of what's going on, but the playfulness of the various objectives makes it an absolute hoot regardless of what's taking place, and it's gorgeous to soak in at all times.
