16. The Talos Principle
What It's About: A first-person puzzle game, where the player controls a robot faced with completing a series of tasks in order to achieve eternal life. Why You Need To Play It: Because it's one of the most clever puzzle games in recent memory, a surprisingly lengthy 15+ hour jaunt which still never becomes tiresome thanks to the diverse design of the challenges and its overwhelmingly addictive quality. Croteam have put a mighty effort into designing a living, breathing world dripping with its own mythology, and for those who it might appease, there's a ton of additional content to pore over, especially if you're interested in philosophy. It won't be to all tastes, but it's a rare indie with the breadth and scope of a AAA title.
