What It's About: A reboot of the classic platformer action series, in which the player takes the role of master assassin Strider Hiryu as he attempts to bring down the evil Grandmaster Meio. Why You Need To Play It: This is a rare reboot that gets pretty much everything right and helps bring a beloved franchise into the 21st century with a bang. The visuals, for starters, maintain the original 2D style but the sophisticated movement and battle animations make combat and exploration tremendously satisfying. The progression system is a blast and though the game does encounter a few frustrating difficulty spikes, it's nothing that fans of the original game shouldn't be able to handle.
