17 Most Violent Video Game Moments Of The Decade (So Far)
4. Any Good Level Run - Hotline Miami/Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

In terms of pure violent acts, HM2's attempted rape sequence is one of the most off-putting, but when Hotline's gameplay finally clicks, when you get the hang of how fast to move from enemy to enemy and how best to vary up your tactics and weapons, the resulting splattered canvas of claret is a mess not even Jackson Pollock could've concocted.
I've sung the praises of Hotline Miami many times, but it goes without saying you need to experience it for yourself. Character Jacket's moveset includes neck-snaps and off-the-floor head-bashes, but mainly you'll be cutting through swathes of enemies using a mix of firearms and melee weapons.
Kick down a door, fire off a shotgun blast, throw the weapon at an oncomer and pick up a nearby hammer. Use that to finish off the guy who's now been knocked down and grab another nearby enemy as cover for the onslaught of more goons round the corner.
Every level is a puzzle at heart, but the resulting concoction of blown-apart torsos, bashed craniums and strewn corpses is truly a thing of beauty.
