9. Josh's Buzzsaw Blade Death Scene - Until Dawn

One of those games that way more people should've played, or should still pick up, Until Dawn is the meaty survival horror you've been wanting from Resident Evil or Silent Hill, repackaged in a more pulpy, shlocky teen kinda way, almost reminiscent of PS2 cult horror Obscure.

By giving you a cast of characters you can enjoy as stereotypes one minute, only to laugh as they get thrown under the bus the next, you had some agency in curating the wonderfully gory high school play this ultimately turned into.

Josh's death in particular - and there are multiple spots where he can bite it, but this is more story-focussed - comes as a spinning buzzsaw blade is heading straight for his torso. Sans spoilers - because Until Dawn is truly a brilliantly fun romp you should experience in full - Josh will bite it if certain things aren't set up beforehand, but the way he does involves many a flailing intestine, major screams from friend Ashley, and a flopping pair of legs collapsing to the floor. It's ACE.
