15. The Sad Tale Of The Lost Robin

Depending on where you stand, the Jason Todd reveal was either a stroke of genius, or so laughably transparent it turned the character into a genuine laughing stock.

However, if you step back from all the hype surrounding the Arkham Knight and simply judge it as a reimagining of Jason Todd's resurrection, it holds up pretty well. After supposedly being killed by the Joker, Jason's whisked away and held captive in an abandoned wing of Arkham Asylum.

The years crawl by as the Ace Of Knaves goes to work on Jason, torturing him emotionally and physically until he's convinced that Batman's abandoned him. It's all too easy to sympathise with Jason's hatred towards his former partner/mentor - he's given so much to 'the mission' that it's unthinkable that Batman would just leave him to rot like a piece of meat, but from Jason's point of view that's exactly what happened.

It's a tragic story, but there's still hope for the former Robin as he proves invaluable in stopping Scarecrow.
