14. The Dark Knight Vs. Deathstroke

The best part of Arkham Origins was playing as a vigilante who hasn't quite managed to find his footing as a superhero. Bruce is on the cusp of becoming the legend that would define Gotham City in later years, but he's still learning the ropes, and WB Montreal did a remarkable job of conveying that aspect of the character in everything from interrogation methods (they're more likely to induce heart failure than yield any answers), to costume design (less streamlined, more cobbled-together).

With a Dark Knight more prone to error than later incarnations, there's a palpable sense of urgency in his battle with Deathstroke, a man every bit as tough as the Caped Crusader himself. The Deathstroke fight is a prime example of WB Montreal's superior handling of boss battles, and what it lacks in variety it more than makes up for in intensity as Slade Wilson's lighting fast reflexes called for players to really stay on their toes.

The smallest miscalculation would result in a severe thrashing, and fatigue began to set in after only a few minutes of last-second counterattacks. The animators deserve to be commended here, as both fighters moved with a grace and fluidity befitting their Olympian physiques.
