8. Project CARS
Driving games have taken something of a backseat (yes, pun-lovers rejoice) recently, as with Driveclub and The Crew being duds, the only decent racer from 2014 was Forza Horizon, and even that was hard to stomach if your pop music-toleration levels were anything other than sky high. So it is with Project CARS (Community Assisted Racing Simulator, apparently) that former Need for Speed chaps Slightly Mad Studios are attempting to get in on what Forza used to sell an entire franchise on; the idea of a fervent community-fuelled experience. With realistic weather physics and a staggering amount of motors to dive into from formula one cars to larger offroad racers, this sandbox approach that wouldn't even exist if it weren't for a dedicated community. Thankfully backers have already put their own money into making CARS and that alone makes for something completely different than what the likes of Forza, Gran Turismo or even Driveclub can offer at face-value. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQIbUBbNGd0
