3. Superhot
One for the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus VR headsets, and one of the first titles to be built from the ground up for the hardware, as oppose to taking the idea of head-tracking tech and applying it to something like Half-Life 2 or Call of Duty 4. Being that it started out life as a competitive development project over a very short time period - the goal being to make a first-person shooter across seven days - it had to make an impact as fast as possible to win, and what's come out the other end is a Matrixian-styled first-person adventure where you physically have to move yourself through the world for time to progress forward, Braid-style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vi_JBJ5yoE It's a cool new mechanic and one that takes on a life of its own when you don either of the VR headsets and take to literally ducking under moving bullets or taking guys down as other shots whizz past your ears in slow motion. This has a lot of potential to just be a tech demo, but when the last thing to be a proof of concept was the spectacular P.T., it could easily still steal the show.
