18 Reasons 2018's Biggest Video Games Might Suck
8. The "Sexist" Character Designs - Soulcalibur VI

Why It Might Suck: Once Soulcalibur VI hits stores, expect it to be taken to task for its depiction of women, especially considering that Namco Bandai doesn't seem to have toned its revealing or cartoonishly-proportioned female character designs down at all.
In 2018, do people really want such blatant titillatory fan service in their games? Expect the game's reviews and general reception to take a hit, as more casual fans in particular roll their eyes at the questionable female renderings.
After all, can anyone come up with a practical reason for Ivy dressing in what can scarcely be called "bikini armour", leaving virtually nothing up to the imagination and her vital organs vulnerable to attack?
Why It Might Not: In fairness, it certainly won't make much of a difference to the hardcore crowd, who will make up a huge chunk of the game's sales regardless.
But more to the point, if Soulcalibur VI is as mechanically marvelous as the previous games in the series, it's entirely possible the dated depiction of women won't sink it completely, and merely be an asterisk for those most averse to needlessly scantily-clad women in games.
