18 Reasons 2018's Biggest Video Games Might Suck
3. Too Many QTEs - Spider-Man

Why It Might Suck: Though the various gameplay demos of Insomniac's upcoming Spider-Man game have been generally lauded, there has also been some concern that it may prove a little too heavy on the Quick-Time Events, which seem to be totally intertwined into the game's epic, cinematic set-pieces.
Considering how divisive QTEs have been pretty much ever since their inception, if most of the pivotal action sequences amount to little more than an interactive cut-scene with occasional button prompts, it could make players feel disappointingly detached from all the web-slinging action. In a game that operates primarily as a power fantasy for players, that's pretty much the worst thing Insomnia could do.
Why It Might Not: Insomniac has assured players that these QTEs will be dynamic and saved for the game's most over-the-top moments, while the minute-to-minute gameplay generally won't make use of them.
This doesn't guarantee they'll be well-deployed and avoid feeling repetitive, but at least the developer is abundantly aware of the fan concern, which is something.
