13. Clive Barkers Jericho

The horror genre has been done to death these days, both in film and in gaming, however 2007s Jericho still offers a cool twist on the norm. Master horror-writer Clive Barker (of Hellraiser fame) returned to videogames for the first time since 2001s Undying to head-up this tale of a group of superhuman soldiers tasked with returning a God-rejected child, named the Firstborn, back to its final resting place, inside the city of Al Khali. With the trademark Barker gore and style drenching the screen wherever you went, what made the gameplay unique was the ability to switch between your entire squad of six on the fly, encompassing a plethora of powers and weapons between them. Although (without spoiling specifics) the story was not as conclusive as many would have liked, if you like your horror stories more for the journey than the destination, Jericho is a great slice of Clive Barkers twisted mind, brought to life in a fantastically dark first-person shooter.
