19 Predictions For This Fall's MetaCritic Gaming Scores

7. Rise Of The Tomb Raider

MetaCritic Score: 89 What To Expect: Even though Crystal Dynamics' 2013 Tomb Raider reboot was one of the best-reviewed AAA titles of that year (85-87), this hugely-anticipated follow-up is one of the few 2015 sequels that seems destined to surpass what came before. If the original set an excellent foundation, Rise looks poised to re-introduce some of the classic Tomb Raider elements such as, well, actual tombs, and more diverse locales than the single island setting of the 2013 game. If CD can successfully meld classic Lara Croft tropes with the superb, Uncharted-esque play style of the previous game, then Rise might similarly end up as one of the year's best AAA titles, if not quite doing enough to end up in GOTY territory. The gameplay footage shown off so far does look a tad forgiving AI-wise, though hopefully this can be tightened up a little ahead of release. If it is a hit, though, anyone who doesn't own a Microsoft platform will need to wait a little while due to its unfortunate status as a pesky timed exclusive, which totally sucks. Release Date: November 10-13 (Xbox 360 & Xbox One), Q1 2016 (PC), Q4 2016 (PS4)
