8. Fallout 4
MetaCritic Score: 94 What To Expect: The game that'd probably end up as Game of the Year if not for the existence of Metal Gear Solid V (which is currently sitting at an astonishing 95). Though the visual presentation does admittedly look a little behind the times and may impact the score ever so slightly, expect it to rise just barely above Fallout 3's 90-93 across all three platforms due to the sheer amount of innovation that Bethesda are bringing to their already deeply satisfying formula. A fully voice-acted protagonist (including 13,000 lines of dialogue), the ability to build settlements, in-depth weapons crafting and flying capabilities are all set to ensure that Fallout 4 is the richest and most comprehensively enjoyable game in the series yet. If this game scores less than 90 (bearing in mind that the divisive New Vegas still scooped 82-84), something major will have gone wrong, but that doesn't seem at all likely, or really even possible at this point. Release Date: November 10
