19 WTF Moments From Quantum Break

3. The Really, Really Lame Final Boss

The final boss battle is, of course, against Paul Serene, but it's a disappointingly by-the-numbers affair, all the more crushing because it's the only proper boss fight in the entire game.

The battle basically sees you fight off a wave of Monarch enemies, running from Serene's explosive balls of orange energy, fleeing from his giant red wave that will insta-kill you if you can't outrun it, shooting Serene, killing some tougher Monarch guys, avoiding more red waves and then shooting him again. Cue an awesome cut-scene where you destroy his face with a killer punch, and that's all she wrote.

Was it asking too much for more than bullet sponge enemies and repetitive actions? Also, considering how easy it is to get killed by those damn red waves, would it have killed them to place the checkpoint at the start of the battle, rather than making us un-freeze Will, sit through a loading screen and only then get to try again? Laaame.
