20 Awesome PS3 Exclusives You Need to Play Before Getting A PS4

17. Infamous

Infamous Like all good superhero adventures, Cole McGrath's story starts with a bang. Literally, in his case. A bike messenger and parkour enthusiast by trade, Mr. Mcgrath is tasked at the start of Infamous with delivering a mysterious package which promptly explodes, wipes out half the city and enthuses Cole's body with the marvelous powers of electricity. Cue a magnificent open-world where you get to grips with becoming the cities new saviour/badass. Part RPG, part third-person shooter, part morality tale and all fun, Infamous lets you be the good or bad guy whenever you want, complete with red and blue lightning to showcase which karmic alignment you're currently flying the banner fore. Admittedly the storyline of the original Infamous is eclipsed greatly by that of the second entry, but this experience was the catalyst that formed a brand new franchise. Infamous: Second Son, coming out in 2014 for the PS4, is set to star a brand new protagonist but it's still a good idea to get yourself acquainted with Infamous' world before that title comes out. You won't regret it - even now Infamous holds up as a great game, although, like I said, it was marginally eclipsed by its sequel. But still, frying pedestrians never gets old. Cackling madly while doing so is optional.
