20 Awesome PS3 Exclusives You Need to Play Before Getting A PS4

16. Ni No Kuni

Ni No Kuni Ok, so this one isn't technically an exclusive because it did see limited release on the DS, but the home console version of Ni No Kuni only appeared on the PS3, so it's included. #Dealwithit, as an Xbox employee once proclaimed. If there's one thing I love dear reader, it's a really good JRPG. The best ones have resonated with me through the years, filling me with nostalgic wonder every time I fondly think of them. Alas, this generation hasn't been too kind to the JRPG fan - Final Fantasy has gone downhill and despite a few highlights (such as Lost Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles) it's been a pretty poor showing on the Japan RPG front. Then came Ni No Kuni, and reminded me why these games are great. With generally likeable characters, an interesting battle system, massive world and - GASP! - an actual world map to explore, Ni No Kuni is a throwback to the glory days of RPGs, reconfigured for the modern market. I invested in excess of 90 hours into this gem for a reason - it simply hooked me, and didn't let go until long after I'd found everything there was to find. It's also beautifully done - Ni No Kuni is a collaborative effort between Level 5 studios and renowned anime creator Studio Gibli, giving this game an art style like no other that pops with colour and brings the world to life. This game is honestly worth playing simply for the character of Drippy, a bizarre Welsh fairy thing.
