Though it isn't the last time you face Ahzrak in Doom: The Dark Ages, the fight against his enhanced form is absolutely incredible, albeit one that doesn't suffer weak players lightly.

This epic, hella long three-phase fight will test the full extent of your dodging and parrying abilities, without which you're liable to get the floor mopped with you.

In the battle's second phase Ahzrak sprouts his wings to dart around the arena at great speed while continuing his attack salvo, and in phase three a thoroughly pissed off Ahzrak's attacks will grow more frantic, throwing pretty much everything out of Hell's kitchen sink right at you.

You'll need pin-sharp reaction times to get through this in one piece, and in addition to each phase being trickier than the one before, there are no mid-fight checkpoints to speak of, meaning you have to the start the whole 15-minute boss fight again if you perish.

Still, the combination of neat setting, fun combat, and satisfying payoff make this the most badass fight in the game.
