So funny story about the Mario Kart games. They're STILL selling like hot cakes. Like, long after the consoles they were made for go off the shelves. Look up the sales for Mario Kart Wii and consider that that's the most recent sales measurement. People don't just love Mario Kart, they are OBSESSED. And Mario Kart 8 Deluxe demonstrates precisely why: they're fun as hell!

Mario Kart 8 was already a fun time, but Deluxe adds in enough new bells and whistles to make it worth buying the same game over again, while maintaining what made you buy it the first time around.

The controls are tight and responsive, the speed is phenomenal thanks to the higher speed settings in this game, and best of all you FINALLY have a means of countering the blue shell. Which - to be blunt - is the Mario equivalent of what sex feels like.

Take all that and add on the inclusion of Link and the Splatoon kids and you have a fantastic kart racer that gives you a better sense of speed than pretty much any other racing game on the market.
