20 Best Nintendo Games Of The Decade

16. Octopath Traveler

Nintendo games decade
Square Enix

When Octopath Traveler was first announced for the Switch, it was a bigger deal than you might think it would be. After all, this was a brand new IP coming from Square Enix, the first true blue RPG to be released on the Switch, and it had a really good hook for its setup, granting the player a ton of freedom for how they want to approach their game.

Do you want to be a warrior? A hunter? A mage? Or even just a traveling merchant looking for her next big break? Octopath Traveler has exactly what you're looking for, complete with its own story, internal mythology and characters for the class you choose. It's the kind of complexity you'd only find in something like SWTOR.

But on top of that, the game itself is a perfect example of why Square Enix has lasted as long as they have. Lovers of turn based RPG's will adore this game, as it has everything that made games like Final Fantasy 6 and Skies Of Arcadia such classics.
