Just because the Wii U was technically a failure, doesn't mean it didn't have some bangers to go out on. One of these was without question Super Mario 3D World. To boil the appeal of this game down the most basic elements, it's basically the New Super Mario games but with co-op that doesn't suck.

And the reason for this is simple: the levels are actually designed to be played by more than one person. They're big, expansive, with multiple paths leading to different goodies and prizes to reward your exploration. You can actually go off screen from your fellow players without worry, and the levels are large enough that you'll never get in each other's way. Plus the controls are airtight and WICKEDLY smooth. Add onto that a kickass big band soundtrack and amazing new power ups, and you have all the ingredients needed for a winner.

3D World takes everything setup by 3D Land and builds on it to make it bigger and better, and it pays off in spades. If you have a Wii U, I'd say give this one a try, but chances are you already have.
