20 Best Nintendo Games Of The Decade
11. Donkey Kong Country Returns
After Rare basically fell apart when Microsoft bought them out and then sent them out into the fields of Kinect development to die,the gaming community had seemingly seen their last hopes for another Donkey Kong Country game dashed upon the rocks of misfortune for good.
Then this happened.
One of the last truly fantastic games on the Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns brought back the original gaming primate in a big way, offering that classic gameplay, music and feel of DKC that Nintendo fans had been starved of for an entire decade.
Sure it didn't really look like DKC, since that style of graphics kinda went away when we realized that it just kinda looked like sub-par claymation, but the important bits are there, including the challenge. This isn't the hardest entry in this franchise, but it still takes you for a spin and makes you work for that prize.
It's unclear whether another one of these is on its way, but we sure hope so. Because the world just needs more Donkey Kong. That's just a fact of life.
