20 Best PS4 Exclusives - Ranked
15. Spider-Man
A slightly controversial placement here perhaps, because as joyous as it was to swing around New York City as Marvel's iconic web-slinger, Insomniac's Spider-Man also felt a little too typical and generic as an open-world game.
Factor in its repetitive missions, some mediocre boss fights, and those awful stealth sequences, and you have a mechanically sublime yet totally flawed AAA blockbuster.
Still, its brilliant story and strong characterisation help compensate for those less-imaginative elements, delivering by far the most compelling and emotional Spider-Man video game ever.
Hopefully the upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the inevitable full-tilt sequel will learn from the game's lazier indulgences and deliver a more vibrant open-world filled with things actually worth doing.
