Though it was officially unveiled courtesy of a CG trailer last year, PlayStation fans finally got their first proper glimpse of Ghost of Tsushima at E3 2018. The wait was more than worth it as well, with the gameplay reveal boasting the same balance between elegance and brutality found in all the greatest Samurai movies.

Shades of Kurosawa were obvious in the presentation, but it's clear Sucker Punch have been able to bring their own spin to the sub-genre, with the demo looking like a genuine next-gen game. The overall art style is unlike anything else across any console, while the different elements during both hectic brawls and one-on-one duels (like dynamic camera angles and the way petals are swept up in the wind), worked together to create a real cinematic style.

Though it's still early doors and no release date was even hinted at, Sucker Punch have been polishing the title to perfection for years, and when it releases it could give them the same bump Guerrilla Games enjoyed with their similarly ambitious Horizon: Zero Dawn a few years ago.
