You are not ready for Return of the Obra Dinn, arguably 2018's most intricate game on a pure scriptwriting level.

From the genius mind of Lucas Pope (last seen making waves with 2013's Papers, Please), Obra Dinn is a supernatural murder mystery where you play an investigator attempting to piece together what happened to the entire crew of the titular vessel, long after everyone has perished.

Armed with a book mentioning how you'll "understanding everything" once you solve what happened, stepping aboard lets you use a skull-embossed compass to trigger dioramas showing each crew member's last moments. From here you can determine causes of death, relationships between everyone and what was really going on, though all of that is best left without spoilers for the sake of this writeup.
