20 Biggest Games Of 2014: What Do We Already Know?
13. Destiny (September 9)
Destiny is the latest game from former Halo developers Bungie, and expectations are high that the game will be a next-gen killer app, a game-changing experience that redefines massive multiplayer online gaming as we know it. Bungie have been cautious to refer to the game as an MMO though, instead likening it to the most recent Burnout and Need for Speed racing games, whereby players are matched with other players on the fly, allowing them to then complete missions and engage with one another. Much about the game remains under wraps despite it being due for release in just over 5 months: how many players can team up remains a secret, as well as the more detailed nature of the story or how the gameplay mechanics work. The gameplay we've seen so far, however, looks like a blast, and we know for sure that Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage has a voice role, which is freaking awesome. Will It Deliver? Given how the FPS genre is Bungie's bread and butter, it would be a major shock if this wasn't one of the best games of the year, if not the Game of the Year itself. Expect greatness: Bungie have earned our faith.
