18. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour

As the title suggests, the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour was a launch game that served as an introduction to the new console. Boasting 20 mini-games, 14 tech demos, and numerous quizzes, the digital-only title was meant to showcase the Switch 2's capabilities.

But Welcome Tour wasn't just uninteresting, but pointless. Although the Switch 2 is noticeably more powerful than its predecessor, its functionality is virtually identical, making this tech demo redundant. (Sure, the new Joy-Cons can function as a clickable mouse, but you don't need to buy an entire game to tell you that.)

Though players spend countless hours on Wii Play due to its addictive gameplay, the mini-games here are unappealing. As such, expect anybody purchased Welcome Tour to play the mini-games once then turn this launch title off forever.

These issues could've been forgiven if Welcome Tour was bundled with the system, much like Wii Play and Nintendo Land for the Wii and Wii U respectively. Instead, the powers-that-be decided Welcome Tour should be purchased separately.

Welcome Tour isn't just awful in its own right, but downright insulting, since the company believed consumers would pay for an instruction manual disguised as a game.

Rather than showcasing the new console's capabilities, Welcome Tour ended up being the worst-rated Nintendo game in a decade.
