Despite a rushed development causing it to launch unfinished, Obsidian Entertainment's Knights Of The Old Republic II: The Sith Lords remains a beloved RPG that's still enjoyed by fans over two decades later.

The plot sees players take on the role of the Exile, a former Jedi banished from the Order, as they unite with a ragtag group of outcasts searching for the remaining Jedi Masters. Meanwhile, the group is hunted by a trio of powerful Sith Lords.

After uncovering shocking revelations about the protagonist's past, players face off against Darth Sion for the climactic showdown. Given that Sion is essentially immortal, using his rage to cling to life, defeating him through conventional combat is impossible. Instead, this fight deploys an ingenious mechanic in which Sion's willpower must be broken using dialogue choices until he literally loses his will to live.

Whenever players manage to deplete his health during the fight, they're given the chance to converse with him. If they choose the correct dialogue option, Sion's stats will be decreased each time as his resolve is worn down, making the fight gradually easier.

It's fascinating, story-driven moments like this that make KOTOR 2 a stellar RPG.
