20 Classic Nintendo Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels
12. Mario Bros. Classic
Mario Bros. Classic is a game which many Game Boy Advance owners have, but have never really played. Based on the original arcade and NES Mario Bros. games, Classic is a bonus included in every Super Mario Advance game released on the platform, as well as Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. As a result, many have played the single player game, but due to the need for at least two copies of a Super Mario Advance series title and a Game Link cable, few have ever played the multiplayer mode. And that's where the fun is. Up to four players can engage in Mario Bros. battles with items, trash cans to hide in, and even Bowser himself! Unfortunately, much like the idea of handheld/console connectivity, Nintendo dropped the idea entirely when they moved away from the Game Boy Advance platform. On the Nintendo DS, the wireless multiplayer would have made the game more accessible for multiplayer, and with the Nintendo 3DS, the ability to download the game straight to the system would make it even more so. Heck, just imagine the possibility of four-player online matches on either the Nintendo 3DS or Wii U. The game is right there, Nintendo just needs to do something with it.
