Toby Fox's Undertale brand is so off-the-wall, players should be used to when things go against the grain. But when it comes to Deltarune Chapter 3, players will be befuddled before they get their bearings since the game throws in a lot of loopy imagery early on.
Not even 15 minutes in, Kris and their allies are stopped by a sentient CRT television called Ant Tenna. Rather than just showing up, the grinning TV appears via an old-fashioned commercial. The retro clip is accompanied by tracking lines and video noise, making it look like an authentic commercial from a bygone era.
Instead of squaring off against Kris in a straightforward battle, Ant Tenna urges the heroes to enter his game show, where they take part in cooking contests, rhythm games, western-style shooters, and desert island challenges.
