17. The End Isn't The End - Silent Hill F

Though Silent Hill has been a bit uneven over the years, Konami's paranormal saga has found its stride again recently, especially after the success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake. To prove it wasn't a one-time thing, Konami struck gold again with 2025's Silent Hill f. Despite not being set in the titular town, f is a welcome entry, boasting intricate characters, unhinged imagery, and complex combat. As can be expected, it also has an intriguing mystery that's sure to tantalise players immediately.

But when it's all said and done, most of the events in the game boil down to "It was all a dream". What's worse is you have to play again to unlock the real ending... three more times.

Although there are beloved titles like NieR Automata that must be beaten multiple times to be fully completed, having Silent Hill f pull this stunt is extremely aggravating. Players were ready for closure after seven hours of gameplay, only to learn they need to endure the same scenario over and over to be done with it all.

Everybody loves a good mystery but there was no need for Silent Hill f to string everybody along like that.
