20 Cult-Classics Trapped On Old Consoles
7. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Before the word ‘multi-verse’ (or Spider-verse) became part of the norm when it came to comic book-related media (whether in movies or video games), there was Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
Released in 2010 by Beenox, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions was the first of its kind when it came to Spider-Man games. You play as 4 different Spider-Men from 4 different realities that all have unique gameplay mechanics and even different art styles.
The Spider-Man Noir sections see you stealthily skulking around areas, much like the stealth sections seen in the Batman Arkham games. Spider-Man 2099 features unique free-falling sections, and Ultimate Spider-Man takes advantage of his symbiote powers to take on large groups of enemies.
If you’re a Spider-Man fan, there’s so much to love here that some have argued this to be their favourite Spider-Man game. Unfortunately, it’s stuck on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 due to Activision losing the Spider-Man licence. Hopefully, we’ll see this game swing back into action one of these days.
