8. Shooting Seagulls - Metal Gear Solid 2
Metal Gear Solid 2 puts you in the shoes of Raiden as he participates in his first espionage mission against dangerous terrorists.
As a member of FOXHOUND, you’re supposed to eliminate bad guys only, but as is usually the case with bored players, your trigger finger might start feeling itchy when your gun is pointed at innocent creatures instead.
The many seagulls that appear in the game can be shot, although the game will make a very quick point about the questionable morality of this decision. As soon as you take down one of the birds, Colonel Campbell will contact you to scold you for abusing helpless animals, and even your girlfriend Rose will chime in to call you a monster.
The two of them make it very clear that you shouldn’t kill seagulls, but if you continue doing it anyway, the game will punish you for your disobedience.
Not only will the seagulls eventually retaliate and attack you, but when you try to save the game, Rose will refuse to let you do it, as she is too appalled with your wanton cruelty.
At this point, your only option is to reload the game and remember to pay seagulls their due respect.
