20 Dumb Video Game Restrictions Players Hated
14. Can't Save Aurelio - Star Wars Zero Company
Star Wars Zero Company is routinely and quite rightfully described as "basically XCOM meets the Galaxy Far, Far Away".
The game’s turn-based combat and strategy elements are on par with that of the XCOM series, which, combined with its Star Wars aesthetic, makes for a rather great experience.
However, there is one point of contention among the fans surrounding one awfully obvious limitation right at the start of the game.
Zero Company’s tutorial plays just about the same as your average XCOM game, but there is one twist. As you do the things the game instructs you to, the intro eventually forces you to send one of your teammates, Aurelio, into certain death.
The consequences of this decision can be seen from miles away, even by someone who’s new to the turn-based strategy genre, and yet, the game doesn’t give you any other option.
To progress the tutorial and start the story, you have to sacrifice Aurelio, and this obviously doesn’t sit well with people who either want to do a flawless run or just really care about the funny-looking alien that could’ve been a great addition to their team.
Rest in pieces, Aurelio. Gone but not forgotten.
