13. Driver School - Gran Turismo 4
A classic part of most Gran Turismo games is the driving school mode, which allows you to practice your driving skills and earn rewards for completing its various trials.
At least that’s what it is in theory, because in Gran Turismo 4 the driving school is an impossibly difficult blockade that can possibly prevent you from fully finishing the game.
Like in other Gran Turismo titles, the School Mode in Gran Turismo rewards you with unlockable cars for finishing its consecutive stages and grants you additional novelty cars for finishing the challenges with a gold medal.
Finishing the courses is also required to unlock new racing events, and this is where things get tricky.
The requirement to unlock the racing events is usually finishing the driving school stage with at least a bronze medal. This may not sound like much, but the school challenges in Gran Turismo 4 are infamously hard, and some players find it impossible to finish them at all.
The difficulty is so ridiculous that the racing events you get feel like a walk in the park compared to the stuff you have to do to unlock them, begging the question as to why they have to be locked behind the School Mode in the first place.
