16. Frontier: Elite II
David Brabens open-ended space trader - the sequel to 1984s Elite - was an astounding example of what could be done with the Amigas limited power. Not only did the game feature procedurally generated star systems, but it came on just one disk! The idea that you could do absolutely anything, be anyone, go anywhere - it was mind-boggling. Many will recall the classical MIDI music playing as they crashed - yet again - while attempting to dock their ship; something that occasionally occurred even with the autopilot engaged. Despite its forgivable bugs, Frontier was an astounding game, and a worthy sequel to the original Elite. Its no wonder the franchise got a successful kickstarter release last year.
