Ask an average person what the DOOM series is about, and they will tell you that it’s about demon-slaying. Ask the same question to an average fan of DOOM 3, however, and their response is just as likely to be “turkey punching.”

Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 is a hidden arcade game inside DOOM 3 that you can actually play.

The gameplay is exactly what you’d imagine from the title—repeatedly punching turkeys—but still, the existence of a mock video game inside of a video game is always an exciting discovery, and DOOM 3 actually hides another secret mechanic on top of its turkey-punching arcade that makes it even better.

The in-game arcade machine features a high score system. If you manage to get more than 25,000 points punching turkeys (for reference, one punched turkey is worth around 165 points), when you close the machine, you will get an email on the PDA informing you that your employer has docked two days of your vacation time for wasting company time.

Again, the fact that id Software spent time creating a fake video game is awesome in and of itself, but the fact that the fake game can take a toll on your in-game job is what elevates it to new comedic heights.
