20 Most Hotly Anticipated Games Still To Come In 2014

19. The Last Of Us Remastered (July 29)

Remastering recently-released games stinks of yet another unsavoury gimmick by video game publishers to part silly gamers with more of their money, though every so often, a game comes along that actually justifies the technical polish-up. The Last of Us was released at an awkward time in video game development, as the PS3 was winding down and gamers were preparing themselves for the launch of the PS4 just a few months later, maybe saving their money and cutting down on how many games they were buying. As a result, The Last of Us being released on the PS4 gives all those players a chance to play a higher-fidelity version of it, while also any Xbox converts who picked up a PS4 will finally be able to play one of the most acclaimed games in the history of the medium. It might not be at the top of your list if you've already blasted through the PS3 version, but from what we've seen so far, this looks like a major technical step-up on the version released last year. Predicted MetaCritic Score: 96
