20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening
11. Splinter Cell Remake
Ubisoft announced the Splinter Cell Remake back in December 2021. The studio promised to faithfully recreate the beloved espionage title from the ground up using the Snowdrop Engine, with modernised visuals and gameplay that stayed true to the original, preserving its linear format. Almost 5 years after this announcement though, and news has been incredibly hard to come by.
In 2022, Ubisoft released some concept art and developer interviews, but that's about the sum total of what we've gotten up to this point. No gameplay reveal, no release date or even a rough window to appease players. All the years of silence have made it easy to forget that stealth expert Sam Fisher is actually making a comeback.
The good news is, the project is still alive. Ubisoft Toronto lists the remake as its lead project currently. Aside from that, though, the game remains as elusive as its sneaky protagonist.
