20 Most Anticipated Video Games Still Coming In 2017

4. Assassin's Creed Origins

Assassin S Creed Origins Combat
Ubisoft

Release Date: 27th October

Of all the games on this list, AC Origins has the most ground to claw back.

Ubisoft really are puling out all the stops to convince fans they've changed, as taking two years off has at least allowed them to design an all-new combat system. Gone is the animation-heavy, "Just keep pressing X to win" likes of AC titles past, and in is a Dark Souls-influenced back n' forth of attacking, defending and dodging when necessary.

Also in is a loot grind with a huge amount of weapons, a bow n' arrow for ranged infiltration, an eagle to scout ahead and a very Witcher-like multi-layered set of side missions to soak up.

If nothing else, Origins benefitted from a solid showing at E3, but whether the final game holds up... is another matter entirely.
