Y'know how I mentioned Battlefront 2 being something of an apologetic sequel? Destiny 2 is one too, re-righting the wrongs of that first game, and filling in the substantial blanks left after a truly disastrous development cycle.

If you want the full warts n' all story check out Kotaku's writeup, but sufficed to say, gutting the game's story and lore delivery months before launch resulted in something that was immaculate to play, but with a story that was practically non-existent.

Going forward - and even the beta allayed fears on this - we're getting a full story campaign with a notable villain in Ghaul, more set-piece Halo-style missions, immaculate gameplay with many quality-of-life improvements, and TONS more loot to adorn our respective characters.

Many are arguing there should've been more to Destiny 2, but when your main priority is acknowledging faults and establishing the Destiny name in a positive light, this is the best way to go.
